H2H Cup Jan-Jun 2012 Final Results!!!!

After nearly 5 months of competition, this edition of the H2H Cup has finally ended! ExplodingPonyToast and wasted made it an exciting competition throughout, but in the end, the final wasn't even close--ExplodingPonyToast typed more than 3 times as many keys as wasted to take the title of H2H Cup Champion for January-June 2012! Here is the final H2H Cup bracket:

And unfortunately, this looks like it might be the last post on Kongpulse for quite some time. It's sad to see, as someone who has been a fan of the blog for well over two years, and an editor for the past six months. But all good things have to end some time. Anyway, give a big congratulations to ExplodingPonyToast, and good luck in all your future WhatPulse endeavors! Even without the blog, I'm sure that the over 500(!) members of the Kongregate WhatPulse team will continue to prove that we deserve to be a Top 10 team.

H2H Cup Semifinal Results

Just one round to go in this edition of the H2H Cup, and just one matchup left to determine the winner!  Who will win the H2H Cup this time?  Will it be ExplodingPonyToast, or will it be wasted?  Get ready for what is sure to be an exciting final!  As usual, the final will begin this Saturday (May 19) at 8:30 AM WhatPulse time (6:30 AM GMT, 2:30 AM EDT), and it will end on Saturday, June 9, at the same time--at which time, a winner will be crowned!

And one more time, here is how the bracket looks:

Good luck to both of the remaining competitors, and may the best KongPulser win!

H2H Cup Quarterfinal Results

The quarterfinal round featured the closest matchup to date, with wasted defeating ajhgfa by fewer than 9000 keys. In addition, the #2 seed Mysterymason lost.

Here is how the bracket currently stands, heading into the semifinals:

Semifinal matchups will begin this Saturday, April 21, at 8:30 AM WhatPulse time (6:30 AM GMT, 2:30 AM EDT) and end Saturday, May 12, at the same time.

As far as predictions are concerned, no one can earn any more points from their predictions (all of the upsets had a lot to do with that). Sellyme is officially the prediction winner, with a total of 22 points. Jaume is 2nd with 18 points, and I finish third with 13 points.

Good luck to the semifinalists: ExplodingPonyToast, VforVendetta, X-Kal, and wasted!

H2H Cup Round 2 Results

With only 8 WhatPulsers remaining, the competition is heating up. The most notable result of round 2 is that WiiPlayer113 was eliminated, meaning he'll no longer get to keep his runner-up stick.

Here is the bracket as it currently stands, showing Round 2 results and quarterfinal matchups:

The H2H Cup quarterfinals begin this Saturday, March 24, and end 3 weeks later (on Saturday, April 14). The round will start and end at 8:30 AM WhatPulse time. However, with all the Daylight Savings Time changes happening over the next few weeks, I'll still count your pulses even if they're off by an hour or two. (If they're off by more than that, I'll use the formula of multiplying the total amount pulse by the percentage of the pulse that actually took place during the round.)

H2H Cup Round 1 Results

Talk about upsets: The #1 seed, #3 seed, and #4 seed all lost in the first round.

Here is the bracket with round 1 scores included:

As far as predictions are concerned, only Selly, Jaume, and I made predictions. Selly and Jaume both currently have 12 points, while I have 11.

Round 2 will begin next Saturday, February 25, at 7:30 AM GMT (remember, there is a one-week break between rounds) and end Saturday, March 17, at the same time.

Good luck to all the remaining competitors!

H2H Cup Jan-Jun 2012: Qualifying Results

So there were 39 people trying to qualify for the 32 slots in the H2H Cup tournament. These 39 people are everyone in the H2H League battles, plus Tempalt3.

Of the 39 potential qualifiers, 8 did not pulse during the one-week qualifying span. These 8 people are:

Badgy_McBadger

WiiPlayer113

Sellyme

GHXpert59

TheLurkerMan

MelbourneBoy

MicroGamer15

PinkFloyd

Of course, that only leaves 31 people for a 32-person tournament. Because of this, I decided to let in WiiPlayer113 as the 32nd and final player. Wii is one of the most active typers on the team, and I can only imagine that his failure to pulse in the past week was a fluke. Besides, this should make for a very exciting first round matchup between #1 seed aaaaaa123456789 and Wii.

The Challonge! bracket below shows the seeding for the tournament.

The first round of the H2H Cup is now underway (actually, it started nearly 2 days ago now). It will end on Saturday, February 18 at 7:30 AM GMT (which is the same time that the H2H League battles end).

Good luck to all the tournament competitors!

Fun fact: Assuming the Kongregate WhatPulse team was started on December 17, 2007 (the date of the WhatPulse thread's OP), the Kongregate team as a whole has averaged 17.35 keys per second!

And just to put sellyme's kps in perspective, it is the equivalent of typing 23 words per minute constantly (24 hours a day) for over 2.25 years! Impressive!
